Torex (Irvine, CA) introduced the XD9704/XD9705 series for automotive and industrial systems. The series is designed for automotive +B power supply applications, high efficiency across light to heavy loads, low-heat generation and reliable operation during low-input-voltage conditions and can be used in communication modules, sensors and industrial equipment.

Features:

  • Supports 36V input rating with 46V peak voltage capability (400ms) and delivers up to 600mA output current
  • 11μA quiescent current and achieves up to 90% efficiency under VIN=12V, VOUT=5V and IOUT=1mA as an alternative to conventional LDOs
  • Integrates P-channel driver FET to pass input voltage directly to output during engine cranking or low input-to-output voltage differential scenarios
  • Operates at 2.2MHz to allow use of small inductors and capacitors, reducing total mounting area to 48.7mm²
  • Offers fixed F-PWM control (XD9704) or automatic PWM/PFM switching (XD9705) in SOT-89-5 package (with DFN1820-6J under development)
