oToBrite (Hsinchu, Taiwan) introduced the GMSL2 Repeater for unmanned vehicles, off-highway machines, heavy machinery and robotics. The GMSL2 Repeater is designed for doubling camera-to-SoC transmission range on large machines and operating in permanent outdoor or harsh environments and can be used in heavy construction, mining, agricultural, forestry equipment, long-haul trucking, outdoor autonomous mobile robots (AMRs) and unmanned ground vehicles (UGVs).
The GMSL2 Repeater provides a full signal recovery and inline retransmission solution for automotive-grade GMSL2 camera systems and host compute platforms using the 6Gbps GMSL2 and FAKRA Type Z standard.
Features:
- Regenerates incoming GMSL2 signals in full at midpoint to extend maximum transmission reach from 15 meters to 30 meters
- Full signal recovery and retransmission adds under 1 microsecond of processing latency across link
- Draws operational power over same coaxial cable as connected camera
- Measures 34.6 x 36 x 19 mm, draws up to 1.3 watts (excluding camera power) and carries IP69K rating when mated to equivalent-rated cable connector
- Operates in temperature extremes ranging from -40°C to 85°C.
