SPARTANBURG, S.C. (AP) — The coffee company best known for its single-serving, ready-to-brew cups plans is planning a South Carolina plant that will hire 500 workers.

Multiple media organizations report that Keurig Green Mountain Inc. plans to build a $350 million roasting and packaging facility in Spartanburg County.

The facility will primarily house coffee roasting and packaging for Keurig's single-serve K-Cup pods, but also could include distribution and warehousing operations in the future.

The Coordinating Council for Economic Development has approved job development credits related to this project, as well as nearly $4 million to Spartanburg County to help with site and infrastructure improvements.
