Pompeian, an olive oil company based in Baltimore since 1906, this week marked the opening of a new high-speed production line at its headquarters, representing a nearly $10 million investment in the company’s operations.

The expansion is geared toward strengthening Pompeian’s supply chain while enabling the company to meet increasing demand from retailers and consumers.

“Pompeian is a stalwart of Baltimore’s business community, and has always been deeply connected to the city,” said Baltimore Mayor Brandon M. Scott. “From my time as a councilman to today, I’ve seen firsthand the meaningful investments they make, not just in their facilities, but in the people of Baltimore who they employ. Not to mention, they produce the best olive oil on the market – you won’t find any other brand in my household."

“We continue to invest because consumers trust our quality and the values we stand for,” said Pompeian CEO Mouna Aissaoui in a statement. “That confidence fuels us to keep improving. We take our #1 position seriously, through innovation and uncompromising quality, and this new line strengthens that leadership while enabling us to better serve our retail partners and consumers.”

Pompeian said it also continues to invest in product development leading to the brand's Squeeze bottle, which is designed for more convenience and precision.
