Bakery Recalls Lemon Bars Over Allergen

A packaging error triggered the recall.

Mislabeled Lemon Pound Cake Copy

Schwartz Brothers Bakery of Seattle, Washington is recalling 24 units of Lemon Dessert Bars because they may contain undeclared eggs. People who have an allergy or severe sensitivity run the risk of an allergic reaction if they consume these products. The bars were distributed to QFC stores in Washington state on September 16.

The 11.6 ounce containers carry the Schwartz Brothers Bakery brand. No illnesses have been reported to date.

The recall was initiated after it was discovered that some of the Lemon Pound Cake, which contains egg, was mislabeled as Lemon Dessert Bars. This recall is being made with the knowledge of the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.
