RTE Sausage Recalled for Misbranding

A known, and potentially deadly, allergen is not identified on the label.

Portland, Oregon-based Olympia Meats is recalling approximately 200 pounds of ready-to-eat pork sausage products due to misbranding and undeclared allergens. The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) made the announcement. The product contains pistachios, a known allergen, which is not declared on the product label. 

These sausage was shipped to retail locations in California, Oregon, and Washington. The problem was discovered after the firm received a complaint from a retail customer.

There have been no confirmed reports of adverse reactions due to consumption of these products
