Chicken Caesar Salad Recalled for Labeling Error

The anchovies were spotted as the salads were being unpacked and placed on store shelves.

Chicken Caesar Salad

Dallas, Texas-based Taylor Farms is recalling approximately 1,079 pounds of Caesar salad with chicken products due to misbranding and undeclared allergens. The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) made the announcement. The product contains anchovies, a known allergen, which is not declared on the product label.

The ready-to-eat Caesar salad with chicken product was produced on May 8 and sold in 9.75 ounce clear plastic packages branded as H.E.B. Shake, Rattle & Bowl Caesar Salad with Chicken. They were shipped to retail stores throughout Texas.

The problem was discovered by a retail store when the mislabeled products were being unpacked and placed on store shelves. There have been no confirmed reports of adverse reactions.
