Stino Da Napoli, based out of Rocky River, Ohio is recalling approximately 11,392 pounds of various meat products that were produced, packed and distributed without the benefit of federal inspection. The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service made the announcement.
The products in question are 24-ounce jars of Gourmet Meat Sauce Bolognese and Pasta Sauce with Bacon Fumo Del Vesuvio, as well as 1.3-pound packages of Stino's Meatballs and Gourmet Italian Meat for Lasagna. The ready-to-eat products were produced between November 30, 2017 and December 20, 2018, and do not include the USDA mark of inspection. These items were shipped to retail stores in Ohio.
The problem was discovered on January 15 when an FSIS investigator visited a farmer’s market in Solon, Ohio and observed products produced by Stino Da Napoli being offered for sale. There have been no confirmed reports of adverse reactions due to consumption of these products.
