7 Tons of Pork Recalled for Metal Contaminants

The problem was discovered earlier this week when the processor received a complaint from a school.

Puerto Rico-based Ganaderos Borges, Inc. is recalling 14,760 pounds of pork patty products that may be contaminated with metal, the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) announced. The raw pork patty items were produced on October 26 and made available in 10-lb.boxes containing 54-3 oz. pieces.                                 

The problem was discovered earlier this week when the company received a consumer complaint from a school that received the product.FSIS has received no additional reports of injury or illness from consumption of these products, but is concerned that some product may still be frozen and in institutional freezers.
