The Sustainable Produce Container from Sun Sugar Farms offers a less expensive, environmentally-friendly packaging option to plastic produce containers. Designed by a midwest cherry tomato farmer, the earth-themed vents represent all the elements that went into creating the produce: sun, rain, plants, heavens, wind and even the earthworms. It has two locking mechanisms, either by sliding the tabs into the sides or by pushing the moon tabs into the sides. Unlike plastic clamshells, the pint and quart-sized containers can be accepted as cardboard by recycling centers. They also ship flat to save space, and in shrink-wrapped bundles of 200 or by the pallet, with room on top for a label.
