About two years ago, French plastic product maker Belli SAS placed an order with Haitian International for an "unusual large-scale machine."

A few years ago, Belli ordered a two-platen machine with a clamping force of 33,000 kN from Haitian, a Chinese company that specializes in making plastic injection molding machines. However, the machine had its limitations. Managing Director Eric Chanal said, "I wanted to have no limits on the injection volume and told myself I would take the largest machine in the world so that I could produce very, very large parts." Belli wanted to make extremely large plastic containers that could be used as water and rainwater storage tanks in European regions with little rainfall.
Belli was looking for a massive machine, a giga injection molding machine with 88,000 kN of clamping force and an injection volume of 134,000 cubic centimeters.
The JU88000 received CE certification in September 2023 after extensive testing. This week, after nearly two years of development and five weeks of installation, the two-platen Haitian Jupiter 88000 was officially delivered, and it took a sophisticated logistics campaign.
The machine was delivered on 17 trucks carrying some 800 tons of machine and peripheral parts. The operation was the first time a machine of that size was shipped from China to a European country and it required a custom sea freight plan and careful planning for transport that passed through several different countries.
Haitian's technical team included nine engineers from Germany, Serbia, China and SAS Haitian France, who spent five weeks at Belli's plant in Nurieux-Volognat, France. The machine will manufacture packaging, houseware, and garden and home goods.
