KINGSPORT, TENN. (AP) — An official says a fire has destroyed a building at the Holston Army Ammunition Plant in Kingsport, Tennessee.
Justine Barati is the Director of Public and Congressional Affairs for Joint Munitions Command. Barati told news outlets that an alarm sounded Thursday morning alerting officials to a fire at the plant. She said on-site emergency personnel responded immediately and secured the building, and there's no danger to the public.
No workers were in the building at the time of the blaze, but Barati said one worker near the building was taken to a hospital for observation.
Officials are still trying to determine the case of the fire.
