CZone for Abaqus is add-on for Abaqus FEA software that simulates crushing of composite materials. It assists engineers in designing and evaluating energy-absorbing composite components/assemblies, and in studying behavior of structures in transport vehicles to protect occupants/cargo during impact. Incorporating crush-based element force generation and failure for defined crush zones, software also determines modes of potential failure, such as composite delamination, fracture, and buckling.
