Medium-strength Loctite 2422 is designed for applications where disassembly with hand tools is desired. High-strength Loctite 2620 requires short-term exposure to temperatures over 650°F to remove nut and bolt with hand tools. Both pastes solidify when confined between close-fitting metal surfaces in absence of air, prevent loosening from shock and vibration, and eliminate leakage. Threadlockers are suited for threaded assemblies that are continuously exposed to extreme temperatures.
