Projecting continuous 24 mm wide parallel beam to reflector, ParCon ZADM 034I analog optical line sensor permits edge and width detection to 1 mm. With measuring frequency greater than 1 kHz, sensor measures metallic and nonmetallic objects to resolution of 0.1 mm. User can program minimum object size using pushbutton teach-in process. Housed in 67 x 34 x 16.6 mm package, sensor can control and sort by width/height, control and position sheet materials, and monitor parts for wear.
