Deflecting chips and coolant, 3/16 in. thick polycarbonate heavy-duty lathe chuck shields provide barrier between chuck/workpiece, and operator. They hinge up to left and out of way for changing chuck, using chuck key, and changing workpiece. Operator doesn't need to reach over chuck to move shields in and out of position, and they don't interfere with lathes that have rear guard/backsplash.
