With up to 256 Mbps data rate, Series D5000 employs media contained in interchangeable cartridges, granting complete freedom of choice between tape, rugged disk, and solid-state drives at any time. Cartridge's SCSI interface provides high-speed output to data download and analog replay systems fitted with cartridge receivers. FireWire interface allows direct, rapid data download from media cartridge to remote ground support equipment, with or without moving cartridge. Three signal module slots accommodate any combination of existing and future Series D signal interface modules.
