Wiley Metal Fabricating (Marion, Indiana), a metal fabricating company, supplies formed metal components, most of which are lightweight and of multiple configurations.  Wrapping these components by conventional horizontal stretch wrappers or strapping was not easy or cost effective.  To assure safe shipping to customers and to arrive undamaged, Wiley Metal developed the Yellow Jacket 110® stretch wrapper to securely lock loads to the pallet.

Wiley Metal searched for a machine that would wrap and lock the load to the pallet while the pallet remained on the forklift, which would eliminate the double handling and allow loads of all shapes to be wrapped.  Workmen's compensation claims and the overall safety of their employees was an issue, too. 

They couldn’t find a machine to fit their needs, so they built one. The machine performed exactly as they hoped.  Soon the “buzz” was out and other metal fabricators heard about the new machine and asked Wiley Metal to build one for them.  Wiley Metal formed a company and launched their new product in the spring of 2002.  Because the machine created such a “buzz” it was called "Yellow Jacket," with matching color scheme.
