Mid-West Instrument’s plant in Sterling Heights, Michigan includes an experienced staff of engineers and technicians in many disciplines. The latest technology is used for integrating the design engineering testing, manufacturing and assembly of Mid-West’s line of precision instruments.

Mid-West’s staff of experienced engineers and technical personnel work with our customers to solve their most challenging custom gauge requirements.

State-of-the-art manufacturing systems are used to reach the precision tolerances of Mid-West’s full line of gauge products.

Mid-West utilizes a wide range of custom fixtures to meet its diverse range of standard and custom gauge assembly requirements.

Mid-West’s quality system is 3rd party certified by QMI in accordance with CSA standard B-51-1997 part 1. The result of this quality assurance program is a Five (5) Year Product Warranty... the best in the business.

The latest CAD system software is used to develop original as well as custom gauges for Mid-West’s customers.

• 1958 - incorporated in Michigan. Began production in Detroit producing instruments for leak testing automotive brake systems. (Model 109)
• 1963 - Introduced the Models 120/122 as a high working pressure (6000 PSIG) low cost differential pressure gauge for hydraulic filter monitoring. Expanded distribution system via Manufacturer’s Representatives.
• 1971 - Produced first portable back flow prevention Test Kit (830) and first portable hydronic balancing valve Test Kit (831). Produced first fuel & lube oil monitoring units for stationary gas turbines (Model 111).
• 1974 - Built and moved into a new manufacturing facility in Troy, MI Introduced a low differential (0-10 in. H2O), high working pressure (0-6000 PSIG) gauge (Model 105).
• 1988 - Built and moved into current 34,000 square foot climate controlled manufacturing facility. Introduced the Models 140/141. Upgraded hydraulic and pneumatic fatigue test and burst equipment. Added new CNC mill.
• 1997 - Achieved 3rd party Quality Assurance System approval complying with CSA B51-95 Appendix H. Upgraded CAD system and added two additional workstations. Added two CNC horizontal machining centers.
• 2000 - Added 11th and 12th CNC machine tools. Introduced two molded plastic gauges for the filter market. Upgraded CAD system hardware. Produced 300,000th Model 120.
• 2001 - Introduced 444 and 555 for OEM applications monitoring the performance of Coalescing Air Filters.
• 2003 - Introduced "The Ultimate Backflow Test Kit". The 845 family of test kits in 5, 3 and 2 valve configurations to serve the Backflow Testing Market.

Introduced the compact 522 indicator for the Agricultural Irrigation Filter Market & Model 123 Piston Gauge for High DP, High Working Pressure Applications.
