Lift Tables
Description
Lift tables are mechanical, scissor like devices used to lower or raise materials for different industrial applications. Stacking, loading, tilting, work positioning, unstacking, unloading, lowering, assembly, etc are certain operations which are facilitated through lift tables. Lift tables are available with varied features like counterbalance, hand or safety rails, wheels, etc. They are actuated by screw drives, hand cranks, pneumatic air cylinders, hydraulic cylinders, air motors, and electric motors. Lift tables are generally available in different configurations depending upon their specific industrial application.
Types
The different types of lift tables are:
Scissor lift tables
Hydraulic lift tables
Pneumatic lift tables
Multistage lift tables
Mechanical lift tables
Portable lift tables
Specifications
The following are some of the important specifications of lift tables:
Lift capacity - the maximum load or force supported by the lift
Vertical lift travel - the difference between the fully raised and the fully lowered positions of the lift
Platform width - the shorter dimension or width of the platform of the lift
Platform length - the longer dimension or length of the platform of the lift
Actuation method - represents the method used to actuate lift tables
Advantages
Following are a few advantages of using lift tables:
Lift tables provide higher productivity and safety
Help in positioning products in material handling operations, thus reducing personal discomforts to working personnel
Applications
Lift tables are employed for diverse applications such as:
Are used in load positioning, load lifting, material positioning and lifting applications in industries like manufacturing, construction, automotive, power service, electrical, and telecommunications
Are also used in wire and cable industry, for painting applications that demand access to above the ground locations
Other common applications of lift tables are in conveyor systems, machine feeding applications, manufacturing and assembly operations
