Inspection Equipment
Description
Inspection equipment are measuring or testing devices used for industrial inspection and verification applications such as non-destructive testing, X-ray inspection, visual inspection, fire inspection, pipe inspection, electrical inspection, etc. Generally, inspection equipment includes various accessories namely calipers, co-ordinate measuring machines (CMM), microscopes, tachometers, scales/balances, plug gauges, hardness testers for checking and confirming the safety of components, which are subjected to operational stress.
Types
Inspection equipment are widely classified based on the type of application. Most commonly used inspection equipment are listed below:
Pipe inspection equipment
Optical inspection equipment
Visual inspection equipment
X-ray inspection equipment
Paint inspection equipment
Laser inspection equipment
Welding inspection equipment
Bridge inspection equipment
Mold inspection equipment
Magnetic particle inspection equipment
Vehicle inspection equipment
Quality inspection equipment
Fluorescent penetrant inspection equipment

Specifications
Some of the specifications while selecting the inspection equipment are listed below:
Applications
Some of the applications of inspection equipment are:
Used for verification of internal and external threads, thread size, and depth in production parts
In production environments, machine vision inspection equipment are used for automatic inspection and measuring applications
In non-destructive testing methods such as dye penetrant testing, radiographic inspection, etc
For inspection services in buildings, inspection equipment are used for field testing, analysis of drainage systems, septic systems, pavement, foundations, and reinforcing of structural steel
Inspection equipment find coordinates of points on the surface of work piece. These are also used for dimensional measurement, calibration, depth mapping, shaft measurement, and angularity or orientation
Inspection equipment are used mainly to control and monitor measuring devices
