Gas Analyzers

Description

Gas analyzers are electronic devices used to detect and examine levels of different gas constituents in a given environment. These analyzers provide a breakdown the constituents, log the information, and then transfer it to a processor for a further study. The analyzers are meant for testing various gases such as methane, propane, nitrogen, hydrogen, carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide, nitric oxide, sulfur dioxide, nitrous oxide, ammonia, oxygen, hydrocarbons, etc. Wide varieties of models are available based on the function of gas analyzers.

Types

Major types of gas analyzers are listed below:

  • Infrared gas analyzers - Designed for measuring different gas concentrations based on the infrared absorption characteristics
  • Combustion gas analyzers - Designed to measure the pollutants and also to regulate the burners for optimal ignition. These analyzers are also known as flue gas analyzers
  • Residual gas analyzers - Help to monitor the vacuum and detect impurities in low-pressure gas environments. These analyzers are also known as exhaust gas analyzers
  • Multi gas analyzers - Designed to examine one or more gases

Other types of gas analyzers are listed below:

  • Portable gas analyzers
  • General purpose gas analyzers

Advantages

Gas analyzers offer the following benefits:

  • Protects the environment against emission of toxic gases from various types of equipment or vehicles, and thereby controlling global warming
  • Combustion gas analyzers generate visible quantifiable results
  • Portable gas analyzers are light weight and can be easily transportable
  • Flue gas analyzers improve combustion efficiency of the equipment

Applications

Gas analyzers serve industries such as medical, food and beverage, aerospace, automobile, semiconductor, etc.

  • Used in vehicle emission, environmental, industrial and process applications
  • Used to monitor gas emissions from power plants, chemical plants, refineries, cement factories, incinerators, etc.
  • Used to monitor the atmosphere during heat treatment process
