UART IC transfers serial data over USB

Single-chip, 32-pin Model QFP FT8U232AM integrated circuit can be used to convert old RS232 systems to USB by simply replacing chip and loading new software drivers supplied with module. UART provides data transfer rates to 2,000 kbaud for use in USB modems, RS232 to USB converter cables, USB interface cables for PDAs, and RS422 data links.
