Using various probes, Fischerscope MMS SR measures thickness of copper traces, electroplated coatings, and paint finishes on pcb. One eddy current probe measures copper thickness in through-holes; another measures thickness of copper on surface of boards 0.8 mm and thicker. Electrical resistance probe measures thickness of copper coatings on laminates and multilayers. Stage probe measures thickness of solder on pcb, gold plating on contacts, and tin or SnPb coating on conductor path.
