Tesastar Probes Provide Adjustable Measuring Force

Tesastar® Touch Trigger Probes'' adjustable measuring force prevents inadvertent triggering when a long stylus is used. Probe trigger force can be easily adjusted using supplied hexagonal wrench. Clockwise rotation increases trigger force by 0.1 N to approximately 0.3 N. Probe force is factory preset to 0.11 N, based on using a 0.82 in. (21 mm) long stylus fitted with a 0.11 in. (3 mm) diameter ball tip.

Probes are available in two configurations: the Tesastar (shown at right) and the Tesastar-i® Indexable Touch Trigger Probe (left). Tesastar-i is adjustable to 168 positions in 15 deg increments. Probe and head are combined into a single unit for durability. Its compact size effectively increases working volume of midsized coordinate measuring machines.

Tesastar and Tesastar-i probes are designed to provide the efficiency of a motorized probe in a manual system, and can be mounted on any coordinate measuring machine. Both are supplied with new TESA Micro-Hite® 3D coordinate measuring system. Probes can be rotated through an infinite number of positions for complete flexibility in measuring complex components, and do not require special software, cabling, electronics, or special operator training.
