Digital Model MCS 2000 single-handedly controls winding/rewinding, intermediate zone, and unwind operations using one or more specialized plug-in modules. Available modules interface with 2 pneumatic brakes, 2 or 8 electromagnetic brakes, 2 brushless servomotors, 2 ac/dc motors, dancer arms, or load cells. Handheld programmer permits quick, menu-driven setup of 13 operating parameters. Memory card stores 2 parameter sets and allows easy transfer of parameters to other controllers. Tensioner performs open- or closed-loop control, and interfaces with analog sensors by emulating analog controller. Without diameter feedback, it handles rolls with max 16:1 roll-to-core ratio. Automatic sensor scaling eliminates need for precision mechanical adjustments.
