Sealing the Deal: Innovative Design Keeps Kepner Successful for 60 Years

Design, development, and manufacture of precision pressure and flow control valves incorporating the Kepner Flexible Seal Seat has been the primary mission of  Kepner Products Co since 1948. The carefully engineered combination of metal-to-metal and resilient elastomer sealing is central to everything the company makes.

Kepner valves offer dependable zero leakage in a broad variety of industries for many different gas and liquid media applications. Valve families include highly durable check, relief, shuttle, and pilot-operated control functions.

The Kep-O-seal flexible Seal Seat Valve design is known for its effectiveness in positive control of all kinds of fluid and gas systems. First developed through detailed laboratory testing, this design has been applied through the years to hundreds of thousands of control situations, from simple to very complicated. The seat design has been incorporated in a broad family of related inline and cartridge type control valves, offering broad ranging choices in sizes, port configurations, construction materials, pressures, and flows. Both poppet and ball control elements are available.

All Kepner valves provide positive control with long service life and easy maintenance. Seat “wire drawing,” common to conventional valves, has been completely eliminated by the Flexible Seal Seat design, since the seal closes around scratches, dents, and other irregularities and effectively prevents even the smallest leakage past the seat.

Kep-O-seal Valves have generous flow passages, heavy internal wall sections, and low rate springs for safety, efficiency, and extra long service life. Kep-O-seal inline valves, Kepsel Cartridge valves, and Kep-O-Lok valves are well designed, carefully manufactured, and competitively priced.

Precision manufacturing procedures provide design flexibility, efficient production, and enhanced quality products, and the company takes pride in being responsive to individual customer problems. Successes include both standard durable zero leak design solutions and a multitude of customized designs for both fluid power and fluid transfer applications.

Ongoing research and development activities at Kepner continue to advance the company’s technical capabilities, and today, as in 1948, every valve receives individual attention in assembly, testing, and custom reports for proper operation and documentation.
