For converting and printing, Mini Sigma-Nip measures nip widths of rolls with circumferences smaller than 20 in. Sensors capture data and record nip width readings while being viewed on laptop containing Windows-based software. Adjustments to load are made in real-time while sensors are in closed, nonrotating nip. Useful for continuous maintenance as well as during equipment setup and shutdown, tool exposes problems with alignment, skewing, and crown deficiencies.
