FKI Logistex Real Time Solutions, a leader in order fulfillment solutions, announces the release of EASYPICK Trak Light, a track-based light-directed picking system. This new generation of EASYPICK Trak Lights features modular units which snap in at the pick face. The EASYPICK Trak Light system requires fewer devices than traditionally wired systems and is easy to reconfigure and maintain.
Each EASYPICK Trak Light unit has a unique internal address with an ability to communicate independently with a single controller for faster message transmission throughout the entire order management network. Expanded menu-based functionality means functional changes can be downloaded to EASYPICK Trak Light devices at any time. Function changes such as Quantity Adjustment and Fulls can be made quickly with simple programming changes to the menu and are not dependent on specific keypads.
The new generation EASYPICK Trak Light system will interface with a wide variety of host interfaces. Linux controllers drive the Track system. Linux is a very stable and robust operating system that is easy to support. RTS'' support desk can remotely connect directly to Linux controllers to resolve maintenance issues.
Real Time Solutions President George King says that the EASYPICK Trak Light System represents a major architectural design breakthrough, which will improve light-directed picking operational use and maintenance inside the distribution center. "Our EASYPICK suite now offers customers an even wider and more precise view of their entire DC operations. Combined with our EASYPICK Order Processing software, the EASYPICK Trak Light system offers one of the most sophisticated warehouse control systems on the market. And the beauty of it all is that Real Time Solutions'' EASYPICK fulfillment systems keep getting more sophisticated by reducing order errors and decreasing order turnaround time and yet are easier to install and simpler to operate," says King.
