November 2002 -- ORBIS® Corp, a subsidiary of Menasha Corp, has formed an alliance with Microban® Products Company (MPC), a leading provider of antimicrobial technology. This alliance enables ORBIS to incorporate the benefits of antimicrobial product protection into a wide variety of returnable packaging products.
Microban antimicrobial product protection inhibits the growth of stain- and odor-causing bacteria, mold and mildew. This protection is molded in during the manufacturing process to continuously fight the growth of microbes, providing an added level of cleanliness and protection to keep plastic packaging products cleaner between scheduled cleanings.
Additionally, ORBIS products manufactured with Microban offer:
- Long lasting protection (normal cleaning practices should be maintained; does not protect the user from foodborne illness)
- Odorless, tasteless and colorless properties
