Omron's series NT631/NT31 monochrome, electroluminescent, and color operator interface touchscreens can communicate with Allen-Bradley SLC 500 and GE Fanuc 90-20/90-30 PLCs. New software provides capability to download these vendors' protocols to touchscreens.

NT631's slim 1.8 in. depth complements its large 11.3 in. color screen; 32-bit RISC processor ensures smooth operation. Portable "flash memory module" eliminates need for PC when updating a remote site or downloading screen data to multiple touchscreen units. Memory module has two 1MB banks, each capable of storing a fully-loaded NT's screen data. Embedded Omron PLC programming console enables users to modify Omron PLC program directly from operator interface touchscreen, eliminating need for handheld tool. Models' two serial ports and printer port provide improved connectivity: serial port B can be configured to RS-232C, RS-422A, or RS-485 for PLC communications; serial port A can connect to PLC, accept screen data downloads from PC or connect to bar code reader.
