Rosslyn, VA, October 3, 2001 - NEMA, the National Electrical Manufacturers Association, has released ICS 5-2000, Industrial Control and Systems, Control Circuit and Pilot Devices.
The standard provides general requirements for control circuit and pilot devices including pressure and temperature-operated switches, control relays, limit switches, proximity switches, pushbuttons, selector switches, and indicating and pushbutton stations. It is a revision of ICS 5-1993.
ICS 5-2000 has been reformatted and updated with current figures and tables. Annexes, not available in the previous standard, were added for proximity switches with integrally connected cables and for proximity switches suitable for use in strong magnetic fields.
Gil Guarjardo, senior standards engineer at Omron Electronics LLC, said, "The recently re-issued ICS 5-2000 NEMA standard offers manufacturers an opportunity to design and market products, destined for the US, according to many performance criteria not found in any other US standard."
ICS 5-2000 may be purchased for $108.00 by contacting Global Engineering Documents at 800-854-7179 (within the U.S.), 303-397-7956 (international), 303-397-2740 (fax), or on the Internet at www.global.ihs.com.
