Single component PX-5-L blackens stainless steels (martensitic, ferritic, austenitic, and Duplex) as well as cast and malleable irons. With low boiling temperature of 250-260°F, blackener operates in 7 stages: heated alkaline cleaner, cold water rinse, acid activation, cold water rinse, 10-15 min immersion in blackening bath, cold water rinse, and oil. Baths use standard mild steel tanks, heat exchangers, and fixtures.
