Lake Forest, IL, March 2003 -- Associated Research, Inc announced today that its family of OMNIA™ electrical safety compliance analyzers has been awarded U.S. patent number 6,515,484. The U.S. patent was issued recognizing the unique capabilities of the user interface that is a part of these instruments. OMNIA provides an advanced menu that allows users to set up and perform tests and read test parameters and results more easily. The user interface consists of an enhanced graphic LCD, a keypad for test setup and data entry, and a numerical keypad for test parameters.
In addition, the OMNIA features an exclusive prompt function, which allows users to set up prompts in the test cycle so that the test can be paused. During the pause, a user-configured message is displayed, instructing the test operator on the action they need to perform before continuing the test. OMNIA also has a built-in calibration alert feature that notifies users when their instrument is due for calibration. OMNIA is the only multi-function electrical safety compliance analyzer to have both the prompt and the CAL-ALERT™ feature.
Also covered in the patent are the different security settings available on the OMNIA family. OMNIA can be set up for different levels of access to the setup programs, allowing users to set up passwords to restrict access to certain parts of the menu and the instrument''s operation.
OMNIA is a family of three fully automated multi-function electrical safety compliance analyzers. OMNIA 4, the base model, includes AC Hipot, DC Hipot, Insulation Resistance, and Ground Bond/Ground Continuity testing. OMNIA 5 adds Functional Run testing to the base model while OMNIA 6 adds Functional Run and Line Leakage testing to the base model. With the addition of Patent No. 6,515,484, the OMNIA family holds five U.S. patents.
