Clinton Township, MI, February 12, 2007 -- KUKA Robotics Corporation has been selected by Ohio Northern University (ONU) to provide robotics for its remodeled and expanded robotics technology center. The center, "ONU Robotics Technology Center of Excellence powered by KUKA Robotics Corporation," will give students hands-on design and programming experience using KUKA robots, controllers, and software. The university opened the center located in Taft Memorial Hall on South Union Street in Ada, OH, on January 26th, 2007.

The ONU Robotics Technology Center of Excellence is a part of their Department of Technological Studies, and is in their College of Arts and Sciences. Currently the center has seven KUKA KR3 robots including KUKA controllers and software. Five of the robots are being interfaced to PLCs and CNC machines in a simulated manufacturing environment performing loading, unloading, and part transfer functions. Two are being slated to be used by their award winning competitive traveling robotics team as they go from competition to competition.
