GE Interlogix TRACcess electronic key control and entry tracking system accommodates multiple access points spread across wide geographic areas, controlling standalone access points on facilities as well as cargo vehicles. The locking credential powers a lock while also tracking and transmitting its own activities. In most applications, TRACcess does not require hardwiring to networks or connection to a resident power source. It provides an audit trail by recording who has accessed the system, where, and when.
The TRACkey, an "intelligent" electronic key that is self-powered and PIN-code controlled, works with a variety of custom TRACcess electronic locks or electronic KeyBoxes, which maintain and control traditional existing key systems by storing keys or access cards on site. For access points with installed locks, TRACcess can be used to retrofit.
TRACcess provides complete control over every locking point, including door locks, padlocks, gates, door strikes, cabinet locks, safes, key boxes, key vaults, and magnetic locks, whether they are on doors, gates, delivery vans and trucks, or elsewhere, and transmits full access activity analysis reporting via email or the Internet.
TRACcess Manager supervises the TRACcess system. A flexible management tool, it is administered from any Internet-connected personal computer and creates a robust database system with easy-to-use web-based screens.
How TRACcess Works
In a typical scenario, a keyholder arrives at a remote site, enters the PIN code into his personal TRACkey, and then inserts the TRACkey into the TRACcess lock. If authorized, access is granted. The TRACkey records the date, time, and serial number of the lock this user accessed. The lock additionally records the date, time, and serial number of the TRACkey that was used to access it.
Each TRACkey is set up to expire or turn itself off at a predetermined date and time. The expiration period can be daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, or on a fixed date. Different keyholders can have different expiration periods. For instance, new employees and subcontractors could be set to shorter renewal periods than longer-term employees. If authorized, keyholders can renew the use of their TRACkey by calling into the TRACcess Manager using a touch-tone phone. They need not visit a central office.
Renewal frequency is used to control access and to ensure the keyholder downloads tracking information from the TRACkey into the TRACcess Manager. A keyholder may be denied access, preventing him from obtaining a new renewal code, when his TRACkey expires.
Go Keyless -- Or Not
With TRACcess, organizations can either maintain the use of existing mechanical key systems with electronic KeyBoxes or eliminate the use of keys altogether. TRACcess KeyBoxes are intelligent and attack-resistant. They store numerous standard keys, access cards, or other devices. They can also be mounted over existing valves, locks, dials, levers, and controls. KeyBoxes provide employees, vendors, and subcontractors single-key access to hundreds of remote locations and facilities.
