Problem Solvers: IR Heaters Warm DOT Workers In Winter

During the frigid winter months, Solaronics IR heaters are keeping workers warm inside Colorado Department of Transportation’s  heavy maintenance facilities, which provide year round service for trucks, plows, road graders, and sweepers. Positioned near roof level, they beam down IR energy that is converted into warm, radiant heat as it reaches work surfaces, machinery, tools, concrete floors, and people below.

“The heat is retained where it’s directed, so people are comfortable and tools, equipment, and floors are warm to the touch,” says Anthony Garcia, project manager for CDOT vendor Vendola Plumbing & Heating of Alamosa.
