For fast, efficient grinding with repeatable results, a new batch-type Attritor offers the flexibility of performing either wet or dry grinding processes. When operating as a wet grinding mill, the S-50 can handle a broad range of applications, from ceramics and carbides to inks and chocolate. When operating as a dry grinding mill, the SD-50 ("D" designates dry grinding) can be used in applications ranging from metal powders to mechanical alloying, pigments, glass frits, and minerals.
Users purchase a single frame, tank, motor, gear reducer, and drive; the only changeover required involves changing the shaft/arm assembly, the bottom discharge, and in some cases, the cover.
Because dry grinding requires more horsepower, the mill is built with a larger motor to accommodate dry grinding. Heavy-duty S-50/SD50 mills are manufactured for long-term, low maintenance operation.
