Thin layer of nickel is electrodeposited on aluminum mandrel of any shape. It then chemically dissolves mandrel, leaving behind hollow thin-walled metal form, which becomes electroform. Uses include molds, coldshields, waveguards, tubing, and nozzles. Electroforms can be made as small as 0.02 in. dia out of nickel, copper, gold, silver, or combinations.
