E3NT-L Sensor's Advanced Optics Allows For Wide Range of Sensing Applications

The Omron E3NT-L programmable diffuse sensor features the most advanced optics in the industry for its type. Its double triangulated optics and use of 2-part diodes provides true, reliable digitally calculated accuracy. The E3NT-L can sense any object, color, texture, or glossiness, from any direction. The E3NT-L's optional optic link easily clips onto the sensor, providing programmability from a computer. All sensor parameters can be programmed via the sensor support software, providing for ultimate flexibility.

The user can also program parameters right on the sensor since the E3NT-L has a 3-button keypad and a 4-digit digital display used to set and monitor parameters via a user-friendly menu. The E3NT-L offers background suppression, foreground suppression, and window evaluation. In addition, at full sensing distance it has less than 10% black and white error. The E3NT-L is an IP67-rated sensor with a smooth aluminum enclosure, which prevents contaminants from gathering on the housing. Mounting flexibility is provided by a connector on the back or bottom of the sensor. In addition, an analog output version is available. An optional heated lens reduces condensation in low temperature environments.

The E3NT-L is ideal for applications in harsh environments such as food processing, material handling, and outdoor applications like lumber mills. It is also ideal for applications requiring long yet precise distance sensing.

"In high tech products, Omron has consistently incorporated smart technology. Now with even our lower cost products Omron has smart features built in," says Dave Quebbemann, Omron's IA marketing manager.
