Cape Software's VPLink product delivers dynamic simulation of process variables in connection with an offline control system. VPLink offers utilities and interfaces to all the major DCS and PLC systems to readily create a simulation database that matches the I./O list and ties back inputs to outputs for discrete control devices, or composite points. VPLink's library of process response algorithms enables the engineer to quickly and easily configure dynamic feedback to flows and levels throughout the plant so that validation of startup procedures, checkout of batch control algorithms, and interlock logic are realized quickly. Temperature and pressure calculations are easily implemented so that sequencing and switch logic can be thoroughly exercised.
