TKO® Doors Offers New Knockout Door for Low Ceilings

TKO Doors now offers their XLT track design that fits within headroom as tight as 18 in. to provide more versatility for its TKO knockout door and competitive designs in low headroom applications. Doorways that have low headroom are typically in older facilities, in areas leading to dumpsters and locations with ceiling-mounted compressors or heaters.

This new design track overcomes the challenge of guiding the door along the ceiling by providing a double groove radius and horizontal track. A trolley system located above the door transmits lifting and lowering power, either with manual chain hoist or push button actuated operator.

The XLT design utilizes the rugged TKO "Impact-A-Track™" construction that repels forklift jolts. Doors using the track, as with all TKO Doors, can withstand impact and provide continual operation. The doorway is always covered and available for use.

XLT track design is available for TKO® Heavyweight™, TKO® Cruiserweight™ and TKO® Middleweight™ knockout doors.

New Door Track Brings Architectural Versatility to Dock Door Line

TKO® Doors introduces the XL 12/12 P Door Track system for 12/12 roof pitches, which enables their knockout doors to operate on walls with a wider range of support structures and roof pitches. This track is part of the TKO "Impact-A-Track™" family of door tracks that are built to withstand forklift impact. On standard doors over 90% of damage occurs on the flimsy sheet metal tracks.

Above the door, the XL 12/12 P track makes a 45° roof pitch angle, enabling the door panels to open past ductwork, conduit runs, horizontal beams, and other building support structures. The angle enables the door to clear these obstructions, yet minimizes track exposure to the masts on passing forklifts. The track also makes the door ideal for docks with sloping roofs.

The XL series track has a double groove formed at the point the tracks begin their angle transition, enabling easy door opening for the door to operate within headroom as low as 18 in. Optional chain hoist can augment door operation: latch hoist to press the top panel against the lintel to greatly enhance doorway seal.

This XL 12/12 P track option is available for the full line of TKO knockout dock doors, with the exception of the TKO® Welterweight™ doors, which require headroom of at least 24 in.
