DAQ Software Keeps Falcons Flying High

Using Kaba Benzing''s AutoTime time and labor management system, Dassault Falcon Jet Corp-Little Rock (AR) collects time and labor data, validates work orders, and provides control on the shop floor. Dassault Falcon Jet-Little Rock, the main completion center for Falcon jets worldwide, has virtually doubled in size as a result of a recent three-year expansion project. Current production model Falcons, manufactured in France, are flown in "green" condition to the completion center, where optional avionics and a custom interior are installed and the exterior is painted.

At the facility, AutoTime is used as a time and attendance, labor distribution and material movement system that complements the functionality of the aviation company''s HMS project management software, CORRIDOR aviation services software (Continuum Applied Technologies), and Total HR Human Resources and Payroll suite. It provides real time shop floor data collection and accurate labor information and supports bidirectional data transmission that validates and prevents errors at the interface level. It further validates production orders and operations against data retrieved from the other software suites.

The AutoTime system is easy to use: a production employee starts the day by clocking in on a Kaba Benzing terminal directly to a work order. When he clocks to the next work order, he automatically stops the previous work order. At the end of the day, the employee swipes his badge through the terminal and clocks out.

"As a result of implementing AutoTime midway through our expansion, we''ve been able to reduce the workload of our cost accounting and payroll staff," explains Barbara Barron, Dassault Falcon Jet finance manager. "AutoTime provides us with real time data and validates work order numbers. It interfaces with our other software suites to provide data for many applications."
