Imagine creating a perfect, one-of-a-kind stencil only to find out that before it reached the customer, the film was damaged during transportation. An oversight in choosing packaging and shipping materials can reflect on the product''s image and the company''s reputation.
For 132 years, Autotype Americas has offered quality stencil films to the screen printing industry. "Maintaining our image is top priority, and we''re able to enhance it by packaging our product in durable and attractive packaging," says Rich Lee, operations manager at the Schaumburg, IL-based company. "At the same time, one of the greatest challenges in our production process is tailoring a film''s characteristics to the printing application."
To ensure customer satisfaction, Autotype uses wrapping and shipping tubing supplied by Teel Plastics for their various high-end film products. The Baraboo, WI-based company is a custom thermoplastic extruder and custom composite pultruder specializing in the manufacture of multilayered and longer-run close tolerance tubing.
"We have...custom designed our plastic cores and tubing to be used simultaneously in one application," says Jenny Hovde, sales coordinator at Teel Plastics. "First, the film is wound around our cores, then our plastic tubes are used to ship the product to its final destination. This customization optimizes the film''s portability and appearance. [W]e [also] ensure Autotype that their products are transported in a clean, dust-free, moisture-resistant environment," adds Hovde.
"Teel is a very reliable supplier, and implementing these types of solutions demonstrates their commitment to our company''s overall success," notes Lee.
