Electronic 3D spare parts catalogs are now being produced by Emhart Glass using Lattice3D's 3D Publishing software in combination with Docware's Part-Publisher. Headquartered in Switzerland with offices in over 100 countries, Emhart Glass is a leading international supplier of equipment, controls, and parts to the glass container industry.
Docware began integrating Lattice3D technology into its applications in late 2004, with the intention of using the very high compression of XVL to advantage for customers with many 3D data assets that can be leveraged downstream.
Emhart selected the integrated solution following successful completion of a pilot project in February 2005. For the pilot project, a customized spare parts catalog was produced for Emhart Glass's highest performing production equipment, the NIS (Next Generation IS Machine), with the aid of Dokman AG. The 3D illustrations (automatic exploded views and 3D line drawings, including list data), integrated in the spare part catalog, were generated directly from the Pro/Engineer CAD data using XVL and the Lattice3D applications for rapid use of 3D data assets in publishing.
"Docware has integrated the Lattice3D technology so convincingly into the Part-Publisher catalog software that the decision for their software was easily made," stated Max Braendle, managing director of Swiss firm Dokman AG, which supports Emhart Glass in the provision of 3D spare part catalogs.
Emhart Glass was so pleased with the very fast Part-Publisher results and the integrated Lattice3D software that the technology is already being used in production of additional customized catalogs for its product line.
