ARPAC LP, Hefestus Ltd Form Strategic Alliance to Enter U.S. Market

Schiller Park, IL, October 28, 2008 -- ARPAC LP and Hefestus Ltd., Israel, are announcing a strategic move to market Hefestus's extensive product line of innovative packaging solutions in the U.S.

Hefestus will launch its SLB™- Shelf Life Booster, an innovative technology for extending shelf life of sealing trays with modified atmosphere (MAP) technology at Pack Expo 2008 in Chicago, November 9-13.  The Hefestus Hera System will be on display at the ARPAC Booth #S-2430.

The Hera is the world’s fastest Modified Atmosphere Packaging machine and its patented vacuum free method of operation is ideal for typical MAP applications as well as newer, previously impossible applications such as fresh cut fruit, salads and fresh meat and fish.

This is the first exposure of SLB™ MAP technology in the US market. According to Chicago-based ARPAC, the American market is ready for innovative packaging solutions and has a strong potential. "Our work with Hefestus allows us to offer a revolutionary line of packaging systems with advanced properties for processed food and ready-meals manufacturers," says Michael Levy, President at ARPAC Group. "We predict Hefestus SLB™, Shelf Life Booster, a new patented method of sealing trays with modified atmosphere (MAP) technology will catalyze a dramatic change in the U.S. market."

"Hefestus provides excellent shelf-life solutions for packaging ready meals and fresh products, such as salads and fresh cut fruits," explains Levy. "The consumer demand for healthy, fresh foods without synthetic preservatives is growing exponentially and with Hefestus SLB™ we are able to respond perfectly to this market demand while extending significantly a wide range of product shelf-life needs."

"This opens a range of new opportunities for our American customers," notes Oded Shtemer, President & CEO of Hefestus. "We have built an excellent reputation through marketing our propriety technology to the European market.  We've developed an ambitious business plan aimed at strong growth in North America in key categories."
