June 2, 2008—Wilmington, MA: AdvanSource Biomaterials Corporation will showcase its advanced biomaterials incorporating characteristics critical to medical devices at MD&M East, at New York City’s Jacob K. Javits Convention Center.
“MD&M East provides the perfect venue to launch our newly rebranded company which refocuses our business model on our core technology. Our mission is to inform new and existing customers about the enhancements to their medical devices that AdvanSource Biomaterials’ performance polymers deliver. We’re very enthusiastic to unveil our new product extensions as well as further discuss our ability to customize our proprietary polymers for specific customer applications in a wide range of device categories,” noted global sales director Khristine Carroll.
In addition to Ms. Carroll, the AdvanSource team, including President Michael Adams and Dr. Andrew Reed, vice president of science and technology, will be at booth # 1354 to demonstrate the Company’s leading edge technology, notably products such as ChronoFlex, HydroMed, and HydroThane which have been developed to overcome a wide range of design and functional challenges, from the need for dimensional stability, ease of manufacturability and demanding physical properties to overcoming environmental stress cracking (ESC) and providing heightened lubricity for ease of insertion.
The Company will also be unveiling its antimicrobial extension lines that compliment the ChronoFlex and HydroMed product families. Through proprietary manufacturing techniques, the Company has produced materials which allow for full homogenous dispersion throughout the polymer, thus resulting in long lasting and consistent activity and the prevention of leaching. The end result being a technologically advanced antimicrobial material which reduces the potential for foreign body patient infections, has a higher kill rate and is less susceptible to bacterial growth and biofilm formations.
