A newly developed series of safety silencers from Silvent, for installation on pneumatic valves, includes a patented warning indicator that shows when backpressure in the system becomes too high due to contaminates in the diffuser. This allows service personnel to both see and, through an elevated noise level, hear that it is time to change the silencer before costly and unnecessary production stoppage occurs in the system. Since the safety silencer’s warning indicator extends when activated, electronic monitoring can also be used to automatically stop the machine for silencer replacement.
Safety silencers provide noise abatement of 30-35 dB(A). Silvent offers safety silencers with connection diameters of 1/8 in. up to 2 in.
