Work In Process Conveyance (WIPCON)

Arbor Automation's conveyors transport parts between multiple operations at up to 60 fpm, with dynamic speed adjustment, which allows variable reduction to 20 fpm. The heart of WIPCON systems is part-specific aluminum, steel, or plastic pallets. Each pallet rides on flexible chain pulled through heavy-duty channels. Besides guiding the chain, the channels serve as mounting areas for traffic stops, shuttle devices, part locating tooling, and station supports.

Parts are accurately fixtured to the pallets for precise processing and station-to-station delivery to ancillary automation robots, gantries, and machining centers. The pallets provide workpiece support, orientation, and are also capable of part identification.
